Owning a space on the web
As a lifelong nerd, I frequently make things needlessly complicated. Every time I go to set up a web presence, I hit the same roadblock. I find myself confronted with all sorts of questions like:
- Where will I host it?
- How will I post to it?
- What sorts of content do I want it to have?
- How will I get the SSL certificate?
- What about mobile?
And on and on and on. I caught myself doing that again for the fifth time this year, all before I had a first post written. No more!
I was reading through Indie Microblogging by the creator of micro.blog and realized that I don't always need to create things just because I'm a technologist. Sometimes using existing systems is where the real power is. So that's what I'm doing here, using a combination of bearblog.dev and micro.blog. I will be posting more off the cuff thoughts and personal stuff on the micro blog, while keeping this one a little more focused on my day-to-day professional life in the real of combining software engineering and applied AI.
